Hyperpolarized Xenon-129  and Parahydrogen Technology

About Xeus Technologies

Xeus Technologies Ltd established in 2016 is focused on biomedical technologies specialized in Gaseous Hyperpolarized Xenon-129  and parahydrogen production technology.

The hyperpolarized Xenon-129 enhances Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) and MRI sensitivity by orders of magnitude and enables molecular and functional spectroscopy and imaging. Hyperpolarized Xenon-129 state is generated through the process of batch-mode spin-exchange optical pumping (SEOP), which utilizes infrared polarized laser light that can induce the enhancement property of Xenon-129 which is also a non-radioactive naturally occurring isotope with ~26% natural abundance.

Xenon-129 is inert, a naturally abundant gas that is renewable, and it dissolves in different tissues and organs providing different MRI signatures. When hyperpolarized, Xe-129 gas can be visualized with MRI, and Xenon-129 images can be obtained in seconds (on a single breath hold) and without any background artifacts. Therefore, Xenon-129 gas is a great candidate for imaging biomarker of lung diseases and beyond.

The inherently long lived singlet spin state of Parahydrogen can be used for Magnetic Resonance (MR) hyperpolarization techniques such as; (1) Para-Hydrogen Induced Polarization (PHIP), (2) Signal Amplification by Reversible Exchange (SABRE), and (3) Para-Hydrogen and Synthesis Allow Dramatically Enhanced Nuclear Spin Amplification (PASADENA). These techniques significantly enhance MR sensitivity by orders of magnitude by increasing nuclear spin polarization, thus enabling functional and metabolic molecular imaging, and other biomedical applications.

XeUS Technologies is always willing to help customers with customs solutions in the field hyperpolarization and consulting services to meet individual needs.
